Hey. That's personal. It's a bit like enquiring about what's in a ladies handbag. But, in the spirit of the blog, I shall reveal all.
We're very lucky that Elayne has agreed to be our support driver for most of the trip, so for all bar two days, we'll only need to take what we'll need for the day and don't need to worry about overnight stuff or gear for the next day. With this in mind, at the weekend I packed up my panniers with all the gear that I thought I might need for a long day in the saddle and in doing so I've tripled the weight of my bike (I wont say how much weight is added when I get on the bike, since the weight of the panniers at that stage becomes insignificant). "What on earth have you packed??" I hear you ask, well here is the list:
Gloves/Mitts, Go Gels, Rear Light, Overshoes, Rain Jacket, Bike Tool, Hat Stand, Pedal Spanner (I put the pedals on, so am a bit concerned that they'll fall off), Inner Tubes (*2), Allen Keys, Money, Mobile, PDA, Tyre Levers, Jumper, Bike Lock, First Aid Kit, Sunglasses, Sun Screen, Towel (You should always know where your towel is), Bananas, Anadin and Water
The question is, how much of the above will still be in there after a few days cycling when we're tired. I'll update this at the end to see what was really needed.

Al, you fogot the Lucozade Sport and the Jelly Babies!
I've also packed my binoculars and my camera. Like Alan says how much will be still in the panniers or will have been used by the end of the ride I'm not sure.
